Groden

Groden

Here’s another great Groden sent in by one of the Nutcracker Club members for repairs.

This one had the typical feet and base damage with some damage to the hat and face as well.

Here’s a picture of the piece with all the new wood added before the carving and blending:

Here’s the piece all done and fully restored:

These pieces are very rare and I’ve been very fortunate to have worked on so many.

Ok, maybe this isn’t formally called an Evil Mad Scientist, but that’s what it was called while here at the shop.

This great piece came in from the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum with a couple chips (hair) and needing the eyeglasses re-repaired.

Here are a couple pic’s of the piece all fixed and ready to be put on display at the museum:

I’ve never seen one of these and really enjoyed restoring it!

Here’s a really nice ANRI Indian that was sent in for repairs by The Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum.

The piece had some damage to the mouth.

It also had what appeared to be nail polish spilled on the rear lever.

Here are some pictures of the piece repaired and with the nail polish carefully removed:

This piece really came out great and was a lot of fun to restore.

Arc Reactor

As I’ve mentioned before, my shop wears many hats.

While I specialize in restoration work, I also do some prop work too.

My son is a huge comic book and Super Hero movie fan.

So I put the 3D printer to work and made an Iron Man Arc Reactor prop to give to him for his birthday.

Here’s a pic displaying all the 3d printed parts-n-pieces:

Here are a couple pictures of it fully assembled and done:

Here are a couple pics of it plugged in and all lit up:

My son was absolutely thrilled to now have his very own Arc Reactor to add to his extensive action figure collection.

My shop wears many hats.

Lately the theme here has been “props”.

Got a great opportunity to do some video editing work for a Haunted Mansion themed haunted house at Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

The customer needed videos set up so they could use them in their display to give a nod to the animated paintings in the Haunted Mansion attraction.

The following is a shot of all of the videos I edited and converted for them:

Here’s a link to a walk through of their haunted house a vlogger (grimmlifecollective) shot and posted up on YouTube —> The Haunted Mansion Campsite

A lot of work goes into putting this on. They did a great job, and the campsite looks awesome.

Tis the season

Dec 03

I can’t believe it’s December already!

Tis the season to be busy getting ready for Christmas!

Spent the day rebuilding outdoor ornaments.

While I was busy doing that, I had the 3d printer churning out cookie cutters.

Today was unseasonably warm in Ohio so I took advantage of it and winterized the pond too.

Lots more to do so stay tuned!
