Flooded (again…)
Aug 15Ugh! This Summer has been plagued with a lot of rain.
My garage and shop flooded last month which I thought was a fluke. Well we got a deluge of rain last Tuesday and the garage and workshop flooded yet again.
Nothing got ruined, but it is a total pain having to move everything and clean it all up.
Here are some shots of the sediment and mud left behind.
So I took a vacation day on Friday. I moved everything out of the workshop, swept, hosed, squeegeed, and mopped the shop and one garage bay. Moved everything back once it dried and did the same for the remaining garage bay Saturday morning.
Here are some pictures of it being cleaned. Lots o’ fun! <sarcasm>
I’m hoping this is the last time I have to do this.

ANRI Ram
Apr 06Here’s another fantastic piece from Arlene and the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum.
This ANRI Ram came in with its bottom jaw broken. Yes, another bottom jaw repair. Told ya broken jaws are common. 🙂
Here are a few before and after pictures. Click on the images to see a larger version of them.
The shop has been really busy. I can’t thank everyone enough for the steady flow of business and support.
Lots of great pieces and repairs coming up.
Stay tuned!

ANRI Mouse
Mar 18Here’s another great piece from Arlene and the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. This ANRI Mouse came in with its bottom jaw missing . This is usually caused by people’s misconception that the nut gets cracked in the mouth rather than in the back in the space provided under the lever. I see a lot of pieces with this type of damage. He also had a chip out of its right ear and the pin needed replaced.
I have never seen an ANRI Mouse before so I was happy to have this one in the shop. I enjoyed fixing him up so he can be put back out on display at the museum.
Here are a few before and after pictures. Click on the images to see a larger version of them.
More great pieces to come soon.

Snail Nutcracker – Concept to reality
Jun 29A few posts back I posted pictures of an idea I had for a Snail Nutcracker that I sculpted in clay. I carved him out of Black Walnut and it came out great!
This piece was a huge hit at the 2013 Nutcracker Collector’s Convention. I’m proud to report that the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum curator, Arlene Wagner, bought it at the convention’s auction to be put on display at the museum and enjoyed by all who visit the museum.
I will be posting more on the 2013 Nutcracker Collector’s Convention soon. Stay tuned!
